Korean Beauty Square

I always have always thought that Pizza Hut provides the best customer service ever because they basically made me wait for 2-3 weeks after I have lodged in a complain and then never mind , I have to follow up with my complain all the time and I think I have retold my story a gazillion times to Pizza Hut .

And now, I found a company which provides a better customer service than Pizza Hut . Their customer service was so awesome that I have to strip the best customer service award off Pizza Hut and hand it over to Korean Beauty Square [KBS] . Right now, it’s story time !

Photo taken from Google Images.

On 10th August 2011, I received an E-mail from Groupon and I saw a deal which caught my attention because it was exactly something which I needed. That particular deal is a BB cream from Skin79 [Click here for the deal page!] which is 31% off and I know I can get it online for a much cheaper price but unfortunately I do not know any sellers [No one will claim that their product isn’t original isn’t it?!] so I would rather pay more for an item [That I am going to apply all over my face] and I can be sure that it is original =X.

And I don’t care who endorse the product as long as it works for me. Photo taken from Groupon’s deal page.

Among the four description [Concealer, sunblock, day dream and foundation], the only one which attracted me is foundation. Because my favourite L’oreal foundation has been discontinued “graciously” and I was in shock when I found out about it at the L’oreal counter . Dearest L’oreal, if you are ever reading this, bring back my True Match mineral foundation ! Yes, the one with the kabuki brush on top!! >=( !!

Anyway, back to the story. The following day, I went to Jusco Cheras Selatan with Wei Jie and I went into Watsons to swatch the sample of the said BB cream from the sample provided as well as to check out the price. So I liked what I see on my skin, it is not too heavy and not too light and most importantly, it blends in beautifully into my skin . It somewhat reminded me of my L’oreal powder so that very night I got home, I bought the deal right away. And this is where all the shit started .

Photo taken from Groupon’s deal page.

On the website, it was stated that the redemption date starts on 19th August 2011 and when we bought the deal, we are supposed to pick an outlet that we wanted to redeem our item so obviously I picked The Summit [USJ]. I happen to be in Subang on 18th August 2011 so I decided give the outlet a call to see if I could redeem the BB cream. And I was told that I could redeem it even though redemption starts tomorrow. I tripled confirm with the lady over the phone and I am all a happy girl.

At 1.50pm, I arrived at the kiosk and guess what, no one was there. The Elianto kiosk next to KBS has two sales assistant and they told me that KBS sales assistant went for her lunch break and will be back soon. This made me very proud because our Malaysian brand has two sales assistant standing there even though it is lunch hour and KBS [Korean brand]- no one is there! This is seriously Malaysia boleh =D !!

I waited until 2.15pm and no one has arrived yet. So I left and returned again around 4pm and was told by the sales assistant there are no stocks available. I was told to return the following Friday [26th August 2011] and the next day [19th August 2011], there are already people complaining on the deal page that they were told that The Summit outlet has no stock too. So I wasn’t the only victim . Plus, I was told by the sales assistant that she wasn’t informed by her company about this Groupon deal at all. This adds on to the awesomeness of KBS .

The Prestige BB Cream and mini hot pink BB cream.

On 22nd August 2011, I received an E-mail from Groupon in reply of my first complain letter and I was informed that Groupon has checked with their merchant and the stocks had arrived at The Summit outlet. On 24th August 2011, Wei Jie went all the way to The Summit just to redeem the BB cream for me and guess what, he was told by the sales assistant that there are no stock available and he was told to return on Friday, 26th August 2011.

On 26th August, Wei Jie went all the way to The Summit AGAIN and guess what, he arrived there at 9.15pm and the kiosk was close. He was told by the Elianto sales assistant that KBS kiosk closes at 8pm daily. Elianto ought to be paid by KBS to be their information counter. And yes, before I forget – in the coupon it was stated that the valid time to redeem is from 10am-10pm so I take it as, as long as I turn up before 10pm, I expect to see the kiosk with the sales assistant there.

The hot pink BB cream that I wanted to try but I heard about the gray cast a lot in reviews ._. So good for me to have this sample to try out! =D

After going through so many trouble and with Wei Jie wasting his petrol, parking fees, time and money, it was finally redeemed on 30th August 2011. And this is a good reason why KBS deserves the best customer service award – I sent in complaint E-mails to both Groupon and KBS. Groupon replied me courteously and even apologized.

Guess what is KBS respond . They did not even reply my E-mail and there isn’t even a word of SORRY from KBS. Groupon had to apologize on behalf on KBS when I complained and when I included in my second or third complain to Groupon that KBS doesn’t care about customer service and did not even send me an apology E-mail, Groupon covered up KBS ass. You wanna know how they covered up KBS big fat ass? It is such an obvious cover up that even the blind can see that it is a cover up:

Hi Samantha,

Please be informed that we have contacted the merchant and we believe this could be a miscommunication from between the merchant as the merchant knows we have replied you and already advise us on the stock availability. You can collect it from the outlets.

We apologize on behalf of the merchant. Let me know if there’s anything that I can help 🙂

Kindest regards,

Cassandra C.

And I know that Groupon can’t do much and I do not blame them at all. KBS, you are the best!! Seriously you are the best and keep up with the good work! I have yet to understand what is your E-mail address at your Facebook page there hanging in the middle of the website and I have yet to know if you actually DO have a customer service department.

KBS, please DO take some good lessons from McDonald’s because when they overcharged me for a burger because they stated the wrong price on their menu, they called me up personally to apologize so sincerely that I didn’t even have the heart to yell at the person on the phone. Also, McDonald’s personally sent an apology card [Which I kept until today!] with a lot of free vouchers inside right up to my doorstep! Yes, this is why I am forever loyal to McDonald’s and I need to say this again…

Everyone, you may now applause for KBS. They DO need some standing ovation [So let us all stand virtually] and do throw them some flowers on stage too so that they can always be the best

One Decade

It has been one decade since Ee Jane and I first knew each other and it has been 8 years since we are best of friends! =D For ten years, we have been together and on 8th August 2011, she left to India to further her studies. I am extremely happy for her because among all of us, she is the only one [Besides Zaharah who got JPA scholarship and went all the way to Ireland!!] who had the chance to pursue her higher education in a foreign country and to me, that is once in a lifetime experience =).

Ee Jane and Samantha in 2005 =P…

Back then, in Form 1 right up to Form 3, she has been torturing my life by making me to copy History and Geography notes for her just because she is lazy and guess what, after years of copying notes for her; in 2011, Wei Sy told me that all this while she thought that I am the one bullying Ee Jane T_T…

Basically, I am her seatmate for 5 years straight and we don’t have to worry about thinking who am I gonna sit with on the first day of school because it is an unchangeable tradition that we would both sit next to each other to talk in class and annoy the hell out of our subject teachers.

Martial arts? =P

I still remember in Form 4, the very first class of Physics, we were in the lab and surprisingly, our teacher separated us. She made me sat right at the back and Ee Jane, right in front -_-… And I still remember that after class, Zaharah actually told me:

I am so susprise! How did she [The teacher] knows that you and Ee Jane cannot sit together?!

The truth is, I wanted to know too. It’s either my Physics teacher has psychic power or the teachers in the staff room has been complaining about us but it’s okay, we both went to university although they complained about us =P.

Pico, Ee Jane, Samantha, Nano.

Most of the time, Ee Jane and I have telepathy with each other. When we happen to go out, we will always happen to be wearing the same colour shirt or pants/skirt =X… And not only that, from Form 1 right up to Form 4, in our class photos, I am always standing next to her. In Form 5, in our class photo and graduation photo, we were standing apart. Right after Form 5, I went for Form 6 and she entered college. I guess, in a way the telepathy works even in photographs =X…

Ee Jane and I after school climbing a short tree for the sake of a crazy photo and I am glad that we did! =P

Back then in school, we both took a lot of crazy photos and everyone thinks that we are crazy. And those people who thinks that we are crazy, actually took crazier photos than us right now and put it up all over Facebook. Excuse me, who were you calling crazy again?

Back then, to me, as long as we are in the photos together, all the crazy photos are awesome memories and they are all awesome memories right now! You are gonna remember how you have to jump a hundred times with people all staring at you rather than remembering that you took a photo just standing right in front of some tree.

Samantha and Ee Jane at Old Town Metro Point =P.

We both basically watched each other growing up. We both fell and helped each other to stand. We both cried and helped each other to dry the tears and to lend a shoulder to each other whenever we needed one. Basically, we have each other’s back and we know that we can always safetly do this:

Me: … And then right, just like me la you know – beautiful =D…

Nano: Ceh!!

Me: Wait! Ee Jane! Am I right?!

Ee Jane who isn’t listening to our conversation at all and is probably 1-2 meters away from me is sure to answer:

Yes, you are right.

Without a single hesitation or question at all =P…

Ee Jane’s 21st birthday party.

I have been attending her birthday parties ever since I am 13 and I think I only missed out one in year 2006 because her birthday falls on the first or second day of Chinese New Year =P… But with every of her birthday party that I went, I can feel that the gap between us is increasing and I feel sad but I do not know what can I do to bring back that spark in our friendship.

Us in McDonald’s after celebrating Ee Jane’s birthday! =D

But as years pass us by, I realize that you don’t need that spark in your friendship but as long as you are there for each other =D… To me, people come and go but what matters to me is – the people who will stay in your heart and had taught you to be a better person =)…

Ee Jane, Nano and I at Old Town Cyberjaya after our swimming session and this is us, sharing a glass of cold enriched chocolate drink! =D

From all my best friends, I have learnt a few good lessons from them. From Ee Jane, I learnt that we must have our own personality and stand. From her as well, I learnt that we must always learn and know when to say no because we do not have to trouble ourselves all the time for the sake of someone else [Who is probably some worthless person] convenience and comfort.

Ee Jane wrapping herself with a blanket at Ai Leng’s house =P…

In the eyes of some people, she is crazy. But in my eyes, she is such a beautiful and wonderful friend to have. She is honest and she doesn’t simply goes around gossiping about people but yea, she enjoys listening to some good gossips =P… She is good with art and biology and if there is such a course that combines art and biology, methinks that it is a perfect union for Ee Jane =P…

On the 8th of August 2011, Ai Leng and I went to KLIA to send Ee Jane off to India. The whole time in the car, I was actually trying to get myself to believe that in a few more hours, the best friend that I have known for 10 years is going off to India. Not for a week or two, but for two years.

Ai Leng, Ee Jane and I – Schoolmates, classmates, friends and best friends since 1997 =P. I think our spectacles frame look almost alike! =D

Although two years is not a long time but still, I wouldn’t get to see her that often anymore. I told myself that there is Skype, Facebook, Twitter and E-mail and this, will make the furthest distance seems short. Although she lives 5 minutes away from me, but it doesn’t means that I will see her everyday if she didn’t go to India.

TJ, Ai Leng, Ee Jane, Samantha and TK. I am standing with a whole bunch of physiotherapists! Good for me to have four physiotherapist friends, next time if I do have any problem with my joints/muscles/bones, I can always find them! =P

Although at the airport Ai Leng kept on telling Ee Jane that we will only see her two years later and that she is going to miss her and I kept on saying that this is a happy event because she is going off for something that will be beneficial to her. But deep down, I agree with what Ai Leng is saying and I am gonna miss how whenever I see her caller ID on my screen, it will be either an invitation for an outing or she is gonna complain about someone/something.

Our last photo together in 2011 =)…

At the airport, I told myself to not shed a single tear because I know I wouldn’t just shed a single tear but a bucket full of tears. When I hugged her for the last time before she entered the departure hall, I almost cried but I managed to hold my tears. When I arrived home, my mum said that I am impressive because I told her that I did not cry at all when she asked me. She was surprised that I did not shed a single tear at all because Ee Jane was one of my closest friends ever.

But that night before I fell asleep, I cried a little because I realized that I missed her a lot and I won’t be seeing her till 2014 T_______T… Last but not least…

Ee Jane, Samantha, Ai Leng and Ching Yin =D

I know we still love each other a lot and I am already missing you right now! =P Take care and all the best in your undertakings and your degree life in India! =D

Ee Jane, Samantha =P.

I hope that your life in India in this two years time will be smooth sailing and that this will be one of your greatest and most fruitful experience ever! =D See you in 2014 and stay crazy and beautiful! =D *Big bear warm hugs!* =D

The Most Youthful Girl

There is a girl in my life whom I have always wished her simplicity in her life. I have always wished that her life will always be smooth, happy, simple and most of all, awesome. This girl, is my youngest sister.

Cassandra and I at her current hostel.

Everyone says that we look alike – just like twins. But whenever I look at her, I think we just share the same smile and nothing else. She has nicer and fairer skin as compared to me, nicer nose, nicer body shape, nicer legs, nicer fingers, better brain but I have prettier eyes and nicer hair =P… And as we grow up, people are still telling me that we look alike. Will you even believe it that my roomie Vivian, when she first saw my photo with Cassandra, she thought that she is my twin sister =X…

Cassandra and I- That is my white overcoat and dress she is wearing!

Although we may look alike, but our liking and personality differ. She is patient, I am impatient. She likes science and I hated science with all my life. She has a liking for Korean bands and I don’t find Korean bands fascinating in any way yet. I love Lee Hom and she thinks that I am crazy because once I dreamed that I was Lee Hom’s wife! xD !

Cassandra, Wei Jane during their Form 5 graduation day.

We both went to the same kindergarten, primary school and secondary school. But because she is much more hardworking than I am in Form 5, she managed to secure herself a JPA scholarship to study medicine and I went to Form 6 and had the time of my life when I was 18. But what I don’t like is, she has nicer graduation robes for her Form 5 graduation ceremony and I was stuck with that shit green robes from KHS and wore it again for my Form 6 graduation [Nano, faster say something about this!! T____T ].

Cassandra in the middle in National Service =).

And both us were selected for National Service and even went to the same camp and came back with extra weight hanging around our body =P. I am very glad that she enjoyed herself in National Service just as how I enjoyed mine. Her National Service experience wasn’t as dramatic as mine but I think it has helped her with her self confidence and communication skills a lot and for this, I feel extremely proud of her! =) Because we both came out from National Service with a boost of self confidence and improved communication skills =D.

Cassandra, Ferlynne.

Now that she is already in college, once she came home and we had this nice conversation:

Cassandra: Jie, you got any new pencil case? =D *Bat eyelashes*

Me: -_-… Err… WHY? O.O…

Cassandra: Because my pencil case looks old, not nice already. So I need a new one =D *Bat eyelashes*

Me: O.o… Are you… eyeing on my new RM5 pencil case? You are not having it! You can have my black one there, still looks as good as new! =D

Cassandra: Too bulky. Never mind la.

Me: -_-… You can get nice pencil case for RM5 inside Sunway. Walk to Sunway la after your class and stop robbing my stuff! =|

Cassandra: [In a very noble and innocent voice] Oh. I don’t like to waste money…

And I told myself – what a noble thought and she continued saying:

Because I like to use your stuff. And it’s free and I don’t have to buy! =D

-____-… How very, very, very “noble”!!

Cassandra inside Sunway College Multi-Purpose Hall. The hall that I was in 4 years ago for a Mathematics Quiz =X.

Ever since she left for college, she robbed a lot of my stuff. First she broke my hairband and I still fail to find a replacement for it. Secondly, I have been using this pocket mirror for a year plus and she borrowed it from me and broke into pieces 3 days later. Thirdly, she robbed my toiletries basket, shoes, bags and clothes to her hostel =|… And I don’t even know which shoe and clothes went missing because I will not be using them so soon. Not to forget, there is a printer on top of my computer and that printer went missing last week.

Cassandra: Jie, your toiletries basket is super useful. I am not returning it to you anymore. You buy yourself a new one la. And then right Jie, you have this small nice green bag right? Can I borrow since you will not be using it so soon? I know you have many other bags so I can take the green bag hor?

-_-… That how she robbed my stuff @___@… And Dad blamed me for influencing her to have a fashion parade around campus. She is born like that, so you cannot simply point your finger at me T______T… *Halo appears* =P…

Cassandra, Ferlynne, Samantha.

No matter what, she is always my youthful youngest sister who shares the same bright smile as me. And just to let you know, if I could – I will straighten my hair [You can start rolling your eyes now =P ] and flip it in front of you =P. Nevertheless, stay beautiful, smart and youthful as always! =D

Happy 18th Birthday and I love you! <3 ~! =D
